The Chapel of the Holy Spirit

Now this is a unique Chapel, lots of very kind people have helped to make it really special. It retains the original altar, pews and Bishops's chair from the earlier YVG Chapel. The new pipe organ was made possible by the generosity of the Brighton Baptist Church and it was rebuilt and reconditioned by Australian Pipe Organs. James Simpson (YOG 2005) very kindly donated a 'Clavinova'.

The Ogden family have helped with a new baptismal front, and the new lectern was designed and built by Dezy Fai, Captain of Art Design and Technology in 2018. The Yarra Foundation and the Yarra Old Grammarians have also supported this project.

Fun fact: A Clavinova is a digital keyboard that sounds like a true piano.

91全能 Library Fund

The YVG Library Fund, supported by the Yarra Foundation, unveiled the Australian identity indigenous Library collection. In addition to the book collection, we were so lucky to have an original piece of indigenous art from artist and past student Alinta Koehler (YOG 2013). Alinta talked us through how this painting took shape. Her influence was her family, especially her mother and grandmother, also, her time here as a student which she felt was central to this artwork. This stunning piece is called Darrang Kyinandoo Wilam.

Fun Fact: Alinta Koeher's artwork Darrang Kyinandoo Wilam is now hanging in the Pascoe Research Centre.
